My mum asked me what I would do if I had to draw an "Apocalypto Series" angel. This is what I came up with. I'll be posting the line work soon - having issues rendering it properly.
I drew this on paper with a 0.5mm black ink pen, then live traced that image in Adobe Illustrator, coloured it with the "Metal" gradients, exported to Photoshop, used burn and dodge tools to get the shading, then used stock for the background. Took the better part of eight hours to get everything done, but I split it over two days, so it wasn't too bad
This is the version without the coloured background. I think this one shows the image off better, but the one with the full background makes a better whole. So I thought I'd just post both

Oooh, excellent colors, very interesting take on an apocalyptic angel. Part of me didn't think the mask was necessary, but it represents the unknown figure of death in the form of war, which is an awesome bit of symbolism right there.
